OBJECTIVES

  • Learn how to recognize intentional injuries, their defining characteristics and patterns
  • Learn how to document findings from the patient and scene as well as interviews
  • Learn how to report your suspicions of child abuse to authorities in order to fulfill your legally mandated requirement
  • Learn how to prevent child abuse by applying prevention strategies to every 911 call

PROGRAM DETAILS

  • This 3.5 hour training is open to 911 dispatch, fire, law enforcement, EMS, and hospital nursing staff (ideal for emergency department, trauma, and burn)
  • 3.0 hours of continuing education offered for law enforcement, EMS, and nursing
