TRAVEL SUPPORT

SOWEGA-AHEC offers travel support to health profession students who complete clinical training in one of the 38 counties served.

Students who travel at least 25 miles outside of the county of their Georgia based academic institution are eligible for travel support.

Students may receive a maximum of two (2) travel support stipends during an academic year (July 1-June 30).

Students enrolled in Georgia based on-line programs are eligible for travel support if  they travel at least 25 miles from their residence to their clinical training site.

Students enrolled at a satellite campus are eligible for travel support stipends if their clinical rotations are outside of the county in which they are based and they do not receive housing support for the same rotation.

Students receiving housing support for a rotation are not eligible for travel support for the same rotation.

It is the student’s responsibility to submit a Travel Support Request form immediately following the completion of a rotation.  Forms for the current academic year must be submitted no later than July 10th of the following academic year.

To request travel support, complete the Statewide AHEC Support Form and Travel Support Request form and submit to Preceptor Coordinator.
