The National AHEC Organization
The National AHEC Organization (NAO) is a comprehensive network comprising over 300 AHEC program offices and centers, serving a vast majority of United States counties. NAO's primary mission is to support its members in achieving the AHEC mission through advocacy, education, and research. The AHEC mission centers on improving access to quality healthcare, especially primary and preventive care, by strategically enhancing the supply and distribution of healthcare professionals. This is accomplished through collaborative partnerships with academic institutions, communities, and professional organizations.
